Web design class over view

This was a very exciting and challenging subject for me. I have learnt website design in college and at cit however i didnt learn enough to be comfotable in making my own. Im still not too comfortable in coding however i have learnt so much in this last semester and i still wish to do more in this feild of design in the future. The required text book was also a good choice and i enjoyed reading that as well. This was my 3rd css website made and as much as coding can be frustrating at times i still had fun in the process.

Blog theme video tut was really helpful too. I made the dicision to edit an existing blog theme then starting from scratch. I have been looking around for themes on the tumblr site and others for a reasnable one to customize.

Customizing my blog!

Here is my custom blog. i have changed a few different features and i am fairly happy with it. Some other blogs i tried to change didn’t work well and the code seemed fairly complicted. But i finally found a theme from tumblr and it worked out nicely.

Having to make do.

Some of the imagery i put into my design i had to take out just to make my life abit easier. One of these is the clouds overlay onto the background gradient. I really reckon it looks so much better however i wasn’t sure how to put it in and i didnt want to put a background image in. Another is the lense flare behind the O in the logo. 

Website 

My website is probably about 65% done. I have had many troubles along the way such as images on different layers, linking, borders, text, positioning and backgrounds. Once i had started creating the styles for the website i had many troubles however many i have learnt from testing different options how to fix them.

My hosting service is bytehost. It is free and i found it through searching the internet. Im still working out how to use it but i don’t think it will be too hard to get my stonefest website up.

Book Readings 

Since the last post of my book readings i have read a few more chapters. They have been part 111 in the text book for css presentation. Very helpful book and i don’t know what i would have done without it. The main parts i have been reading and going back to are formatting text in css, colors and backgrounds, floating and positioning. I did a little reading in the 2 week break as well to help me when i had started to style up my html document.
